Safety instructions when using trolleys

Use the right trolley for the job.

Position the trolley as close to the items as possible.

Know your lifting capacity.

Use a semi-squat position to load the items.

Don’t overload trolleys - it may only take a bump to knock the items off. Make another trip if necessary.

Always push a trolley forward, and don’t pull the trolley.

Steer a trolley around a corner by stepping to the side and guiding the trolley in the same direction.

Move slowly while pushing a trolley around a corner, to lessen the risk of musculoskeletal strain during sudden bouts of exertion.

Take care to avoid twisting your body awkwardly.
