Safety Tips for Using a Pickhoe
Safety is paramount when using a pickhoe.
Before beginning any task, inspect the tool for wear and damage and replace or sharpen it if necessary.
Inspect the work area for any large rocks, roots, or other debris that may present a hazard or interfere with the task at hand.
Wear appropriate clothing such as gloves and eye protection to protect yourself from injury.
Be aware of your surroundings; never swing the pickhoe near another person and keep pets and children away from where you are working.
Let the weight of the pickhoe be the main force that brings it to the ground. Take care to protect your lower back so you do not strain the muscles.
